Australian Outback Spectacular

The Australian Outback Spectacular is a popular dinner & show on the Gold CoastWhile the Australian Outback Spectacular is – strictly speaking – a dinner & show, the professionalism of the performers, high production standards of the venue, and even (perhaps surprisingly, considering the size of show) the quality of dining make it a highly entertaining & enjoyable night out for all ages.

The Show
For the 90 minutes or so of the shows duration, you will find yourself transported to outback Australia and into the lives of the stockmen and women who have played such an important part in Australia’s history. The show’s theme does change from time to time, and currently it is “Spirit of the Horse”: a tribute to the iconic racehorse Phar Lap.

The Australian Outback Spectacular is a popular dinner & show on the Gold CoastSo of course there is horse riding, music, story-telling and special effects – but that doesn’t give you a full idea of just how high quality this production is. For example, the orchestral score is played by a 52 piece orchestra. The 14 point surround sound system is state-of-the-art, as is the lighting show and the high definition digital projection system. All in all, you can’t help but get caught up in the story.

When you consider that the venue can hold up to 1000 guests, you may be inclined to think that the standard of dining would suffer: amazingly, it doesn’t. The quality of the three course meal is surprisingly high, as is the efficiency of the staff serving it.

Australian Outback Spectacular dinner options include steak and vegetarianWhile steak is the popular choice, there is also a vegetarian option, and complimentary drinks are served throughout dinner – choose from beer, wine or soft drinks. Special dietary needs may be catered to if you notify the venue at time of booking.

While the price may at first seem a little on the high side, when you take into account the truly impressive quality of the show and the three course meal it’s not unreasonable at all. You even get your very own cowboy hat to take home as a souvenir. Please note that the show can be pretty loud.

Prices start at $69.99 for children (ages 4 – 13), $89.99 concession and $99.99 for adults: shows on Friday and Saturday are $20 higher per person. You may find promotional deals on offer from time to time, and you receive a discount if you are staying at the Sea World Resort.

Show Times
Shows start at 7.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, with an afternoon performance at 12.30pm on the last Sunday of each month.
