Yes, it’s almost here, and we’re excited. The 2015 Bleach* Festival starts this Friday March 6th bringing three weekends of music, art, theatre, dance and much more.
Bleach* began back in 2012, and has gone on to become the Gold Coast’s biggest arts and cultural Festival. This year’s event is pure quality, and here are just a few of the highlights.
Picnic in Your Patch #1
Performances from Erth, dance lessons, a children’s adventure workshop and live music from Zed Butel, Hayley Grace, The Reversals and Bobby Alu are just some of the things you can enjoy at Bleach* 2015’s first Picnic in Your Patch. This one takes place in Roughton Park, Kirra, on Sunday March 8th from midday, and like all three Picnic in Your Patch events, it’s free.
Picnic in Your Patch #2
This one takes place in Hinterland Regional Park, Mudgeeraba, on Saturday 14 March. It features live music from Felicity Lawless, Aquila Young, Jess Ribeiro, Julia Rose and is headlined by one of our favourite artists: Clare Bowditch. This is a family-friendly event, with plenty to keep the kids entertained too. It’s on between midday and 7pm.
Picnic in Your Patch #3
This year’s final Picnic in Your Patch takes place on the 2015 Bleach* Festival’s final day, Sunday March 22nd at The Arts Centre Gold Coast Lakeside. Another all-ages event with a wealth of activities & entertainment, including surf art activities, kids’ theatre, performers the Ants and Fish-out-of-Water, plus live music from The Fika, Bullhorn and Garrett Kato.
Bleach* at Burleigh
This takes place at Goodwin Terrace in Burleigh Heads on Saturday 21 March. With movies, surfing, workshops, market stalls and live music from Band of Frequencies and Kim Churchill it sounds like a fun day. It’s on between 11am and 8.30pm, and is another free event.
This really is just a taster of the gazzillion things going on at this year’s Bleach* Festival: please check out the official website to get a full rundown of what’s on offer…
