One of the latest additions to the Surfers Paradise nightlife scene is Club Liv. It opened in late 2012 to a fanfare of acclaim, due to the amount of attention – and of course money – that had gone into it’s development.
With millions of dollars invested in it’s sound system, lighting and decor there is now doubting the “wow” factor when you walk in the door.
The sound system is by NEXO who are known around the world for their quality. Around 400 square metres of LED lighting is used around the club on walls & the ceiling, as well as the usual lasers and spinning overhead lights you would expect.
The music is commercial – you’re not likely to get much in the way of underground or obscure/minimalist tracks: it’s crowd-pleasing stuff without a doubt. While the crowd is young, it’s not all 18-21 year olds so don’t be afraid of feeling out of place if you are in your late twenties or thirties.
There is a well stocked, 360° bar staffed by some very attractive bartenders where you can get some great cocktails. The dancefloor can get packed but the club’s air conditioning is built to keep things comfortable.
Also note that the club has banned the pub-crawls from the venue – a smart move. It’s also open seven nights a week, unlike most other nightclubs on the Gold Coast. If you are planning your night out in advance and not just turning up at the door, call first to ask about the guest list and VIP entry.
In the short time since opening, it has won the GC Mag “Nightclub of the Year” award for 2012 and 2013.
Club Liv is located at Ground/First Floor, 26 Orchid Avenue, Surfers Paradise. Telephone (07) 5538 3338.
