Geoff Turnbull will be making a stop on the Gold Coast for a live show at Soundlounge in Currumbin this Friday, as part of his “Alive In The Madhouse” tour.
His take on the roots/blues genre can be quite astounding, especially live. His somewhat experimental style can at times be explosive, almost violent – in a musical way, of course. If you’ve never seen him play live, this is a great chance to see what the fuss is all about. If you are familiar with his work, well, you probably already have your tickets booked.
For an idea of what to expect, check him out in action in this video from the Peats Ridge Festival back in 2009.
With well over a thousand live performances to his credit, Geoff knows how to put on a show. He has played at festivals including Nimbin Mardigrass, A Day in the Vines, Sounds on Sunset and Brisbane’s Urban Blues and Roots festival.
Tickets are a bargain at $15 plus booking fee, available via the venue here. If the event doesn’t sell out, entry will be $20 on the door. Support on the night comes from Brisbane’s TiMBAH.
Geoff Turnbull plays at Soundlounge on Friday January 23rd. Soundlounge is located upstairs at Currumbin RSL, 165 Duringan Street. Telephone (07) 5534 7999.
