If you feel like a nice seafood meal that won’t break the bank, George’s Paragon Seafood Restaurant is just the solution.
There is a small chain of these restaurants on the Gold Coast, and they all offer the same thing: fresh seafood with a Greek twist at very reasonable prices.
The menu is quite varied: while the emphasis is indeed on seafood, there is also pasta and various meat dishes like steak, lamb filets and even souvlaki. There is also a vegetarian dish of the day.
The presentation of the food is nice, while not overly flashy, and the serves can be considered generous. You can view the menu on their website, via the link below.
In fact, the quality of the food, the excellent service and great value have made these restaurants somewhat of an institution. It’s not unusual to see this place packed, while other restaurants nearby attract just a trickle of customers.
Beer and wine are a selection of local and international fare, with some Greek brands thrown in for good measure.
The pricing is very reasonable indeed, though we think the whole “half price menu” thing is a little bit silly. As the “full price” is never ever charged, half price is really the normal price. The price on the menus is the “adjusted” price that you will pay. Note that the weekend menu is slightly more expensive, but still very good value.
Despite how busy the place can get, the quality of service is well above average – especially for the Gold Coast.
Great food and service at a very reasonable price. Try it once and you will be back for more. A very enjoyable and unpretentious place to dine. It’s a nice place with a bit of character.
