Gold Coast Gig Guide: Live Music & Nightclubs

For New Year’s Eve, please keep in mind that many of the events may need to be booked in advance: you can check out what’s on in our NYE guide. Please confirm all details with the venue before making a booking, and book as early as possible where required. We hope you have a great night wherever you decide to go, and we’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year!

If you feel like a few days away, the Falls Festival kicks off in North Byron Parklands on Tuesday December 30th and closes on January 3rd. The lineup includes DZ Deathrays, Run The Jewels, The Presets, Thelma Plum, Empire of the Sun, Airling, Alt-J, The Black Lips and the John Butler Trio. Although the website has a “sold out” sign, there do still appear to be 4-day tickets available for $417 plus booking fee as we went to press. You can get more information on the event and maybe even tickets at the official website.

Another option if you want a little road trip: running from December 27th until January 1st, the Woodford Folk Festival features live music, comedy, film, workshops, cabarets and more. The events take place at 35 venues within the festival village, which is situated between the Brisbane Valley and the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Single day tickets start at $110 in advance and there are currently still full event tickets available too: more here.
