The first MS Swimathon of 2015 takes place on the Gold Coast this Saturday February 28th at Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre.
The event is a fundraiser for Queenslanders who live with multiple sclerosis (MS).
It doesn’t matter how good a swimmer you are: as long as you are able to complete at least one lap of the pool unaided, you are welcome to take part. This is a relay event for teams of at least six members, but don’t worry if you can’t get a team together: call the organizers on (07) 3840 0887 and they should be able to fit you into an existing team.
Registration closes on this Thursday at 5pm and although it may still be possible to resister on the day it’s recommended you get in before the deadline to ensure your place.
The regular price for taking part is $30 for adults, with discounts for students under the age of 18 and for families. There are prizes and all participants receive a MS Swimathon T shirt.
If you’d rather not take part but would like to contribute, you can sponsor a swimmer, donate to the cause or help with the fundraising effort.
