Infinity is certainly one of the more unusual attractions in Surfers Paradise. There’s not really anything else – that we’ve seen – that’s like it.
So what is Infinity? The best way to describe is is probably as a maze of individually themed rooms that use darkness, lights, lasers, projections and other methods to disorientate your senses and otherwise amuse you. It’s definitely what you might call “trippy”. There is a strong interactive element as you try to find your way on to the next stage. The music and sounds can be a bit loud in parts, but it adds to the experience.
To keep the journey interesting there is quite some contrast between the different areas, and when you find one that particularly appeals to you feel free to linger a while to fully enjoy it. It’s the sort of place where everybody is going to have their own favourite part.
It will take most people 30 to 40 minutes from start to finish, probably an hour max if you really hang around. Don’t make the mistake of rushing through as you won’t get the most from the experience. If find yourself at the end in 15 or 20 minutes you will most likely be disappointed with your visit: take your time and enjoy the fun!
Infinity offer you a half-price ticket for a return visit when you leave – it’s valid for three days.
While it is great fun for most people, there are parts of the journey that can be a little scary for some. We will say that it’s not recommended for anyone – of any age – who is scared of the dark or claustrophobic. We also wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who suffers from any kind of panic attack.
At time of writing, entry to Infinity is $24.90 for adults and $16.90 for children aged from four to 14: entry for children three and under is free, but do think about whether this is something they will enjoy. Seniors and students with the appropriate identification can get in for $19.90. There is also a family pass valid for two adults and two children for $69.90.
You can get discounted Infinity tickets by purchasing them from the venue’s website in advance: this will save you 10%. You may also find from time to time special offers advertised online and in Gold Coast visitor brochures.
Infinity is located on the ground floor of the Chevron Renaissance Centre, corner of Surfers Paradise Boulevard & Elkhorn Avenue. Telephone (07) 5526 8935.
