It’s getting closer to the end of the year, so we thought we’d take a look at some of the the events taking place on the Gold Coast this New Year’s Eve. ***Please confirm all details with the venue before booking to avoid disappointment***
Gold Coast New Year’s Eve Firework Displays
As usual there will be firework displays at various points along the Gold Coast including Main Beach and Broadbeach all the way down to Coolangatta. Many have an early evening display for families as well as the traditional midnight show: you can find all the details here.
Bars, Nightclubs & Other Venues
The Arts Centre: about the same price as Skypoint (below) but more generous with drinks, NYE in the Paradise Showroom costs $160 and includes “a full beverage package”. If you are a Friend of The Arts Centre tickets are just $120. Live music come from local band The Red Cherries. You can find out more and make a booking here.
Club Liv: it’s an N.Y.E Masquerade Party at Club Liv with DJs Craig Roberts, Mikeal Wills, Komes and Steve Play providing the evening’s tunes. VIP packages are available and advance general admission tickets start at $19.99: more info and booking here.
Coolangatta Hotel: world renowned dance brand HedKandi are taking over the balcony on level 2 this New Year’s Eve at the Cooly, providing an impressive line-up of international and homegrown DJs: Alfredo (Ibiza), Andy Finn (UK), Tim Whitney (Sydney) and Eddie Thomas (UK) with Arnaldo Gomez adding to the mix with live percussion. Tickets cost $51 via Oztix and include Champagne on arrival. There will be some free HedKandi merchandise given away and you should get a great view of the midnight fireworks from the balcony.
Coolangatta Sands Hotel: New Year’s Eve at the Sands will take place in the Sand Bar and the new Spot X alley bar. Entry is free, there will be $20 Corona buckets and a sausage sizzle, and music comes care of the Matty Rogers Band and DJ Sin.
Currumbin Beach Vikings: another great option for seeing in 2015 is the Currumbin SLSC. It’s beachfront location means awesome views of the fireworks along the coast, and what’s more it’s free entry. Velvet Martini will be playing live, and there will be two courtesy buses running to get you there and back home safely. Dinner will be available between 5pm and 9pm: to book a table you can call the venue on 55 342 932.
Currumbin Creek Tavern: for just $20 you get entry, two complimentary drinks plus finger food. Live music will be provided by The Titanix, and the will be a courtesy bus running to make sure you get to the venue and back home safe and sound. East: the theme at East is Alice In Wonderland with their Down The Rabbit Hole party. There will be performances by Aerial Cirque and music from Steve Frank and DJ Skinny. Tickets start at $35 for general admission, and there are a number of packages available that offer private booths for up to 20 guests with hostesses and (some) drinks. One package has already sold out, so you may want to get in quick.
Elsewhere Bar: the award-winning Elsewhere Bar does New Year’s Eve in it’s own distinctive style. No gimmicks, no fuss, just an emphasis on what it does best: great atmosphere, great service and the perfect soundtrack to NYE brought to you by the Elsewhere deejays. No advance tickets: it’s $20 at the door from 10pm and the celebrations continue on until 5am.
The Envy Hotel: there’s no cover charge at all at the Envy all night, but this probably means you may want to get in early. There is live music downstairs from 6pm and DJs upstairs from 9pm. There are also VIP booths available: more info from the venue.
Fiddlers Green Irish Bar: another no-nonsense pub style NYE celebration – free entry and standard drink prices. A DJ will be keeping party-goers happy until the early hours.
Helm Bar: see the New Year in in style at Helm Bar’s Great Gatsby party. You have the option of two packages: $99 which includes beer, wine & canapés or $109 for a package that also includes basic spirits. It seems like a pretty good deal, and there is live music from the Hanlon Brothers. More, but not much more, here.
Komune Resort: Komune in Coolangatta will be turning the Beach Club and pool area into one huge Barbie Mansion for their Barbie & Ken Party. There will be a Molly & Polly Bikini Show, door prizes, a Barbie-doll box photo-booth, a fairy floss machine and music will be provided by DJs including Kinloch, Clueloose, Spooner, Adam & Eve, Tomcat, Hijakkaz and Ba55 Jnkie. You can purchase advance tickets for $20 by calling (07) 5536 6764 or take your chances on the night when it will be $25 to get in (subject to availability).
Love Nightlife: another option for clubbers is the Dom Perignon sponsored Pop Party at Love. VIP Booths ($950) and Cocktail Party tickets ($75pp) are almost gone – general admission tickets are still available at $25.
Melbas on the Park: it’s “A Dash of Sparkle” this NYE at Melbas. Pre-sale tickets are available for $30, or you can purchase a 4 hour Beverage and Canape Package that includes beer, wine and more between 8pm and midnight for $99. Entertainment is to be confirmed.
Nobbys Arc: this venue at the Santorini Resort has a great deal – just $29 per person that includes tapas and unlimited pizza (it’s very good, if you haven’t yet tried it) from 6pm until 1am. Local singer/songwriter Amanda King will be providing the music throughout the evening. Nobby’s Beach Surf Club: it’s $75 per person at Nobby’s SLSC which includes a seafood buffet and a glass of Fleur de Lys. Felicity Lawless & Band will be playing live. Bookings are essential for this event and can be made on (07) 5578 6680.
One50 Public House: it’s a NYE Disco Party at One50 with live music from Sex & Chocolate and disco tracks from DJ Jakit. The earlybird price for a four hour food and beverage package is $110, available from the venue on (07) 5646 3585. The regular price will be $130 per person.
Palazzo Versace: while seeing in 2015 at the Palazzo Versace isn’t going to be cheap, you will get an enjoyable evening in spectacular surroundings. The Carnival Street Party in The Lobby costs $275 per person and includes Moët & Chandon champagne, house spirits, wine, beer and soft drinks. Entertainment comes from Samantha Jade, Ola Brazil and DJs. You can also get restaurant dining packages that include entry to the Carnival Street Party starting from $325. More information here.
Paris Nightlife: R&B/Hip Hop fans may want to see in 2015 at Paris Nightlife in Surfers Paradise. Packages start at $29 and the night will continue on until 5am: more info and tickets here.
Platinum: heavyweight DJ Uberjak’d headlines the night at Platinum nightclub in Broadbeach. Support comes from Flash, GLDNSMK, Batchelo and J-Muz. VIP booth packages are currently still available – call 5592 4433 during office hours to make a booking.
QT: the always stylish QT is basing it’s theme for NYE on the Miramar Playa from the television show Magic City. Stingray Lounge has a package that includes live music, beer, wine & soft drinks from 8pm to 10pm for $89 per person. If you book dinner at Bazaar ($149) you will also get complementary VIP entry to the party at Stingray Lounge. More here.
The Rattlesnake Motel: it’s a Safari theme at the Rattlesnake, where the party will continue on until 5am. DJs for the night include Fletcher, Tomcat, Vices, Spooner, Clueloose and Brokabilly. You can book your tickets through their Facebook page for $15 (plus booking fee) per person – sounds like it’s going to be a fun night.
SinCity: it’s going to be a New York style NYE party at SinCity – we don’t have any details on the entertainment for the night, so keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates.
Skypoint: it’s hard to imagine a better place to enjoy the Gold Coast’s New Year’s Eve fireworks than Q1’s Skypoint. The theme here is “Hollywood Extravaganza” and earlybird tickets (pre December 15th) are priced at $159. This includes one drink on arrival, dessert buffet, canapés and live music from Gee’d Up: details here.
Southport RSL: rock & rollers will be glad to hear that Southport RSL is putting on a Roll & Roll Show & Dinner this NYE. Tickets are $55 for members and $65 for non-members which includes a drink on arrival, a two course meal and entertainment from Gary Anderson & “special guests”.
White Party: this dance party is held at a “secret location” (think South Stradbroke Island) and features a night of DJs and live entertainment. Dress code is, as you may have guessed, white and it’s dress to impress. DJs include Arcane Echo, CTRL ALT DEL, Túlio Lima and Panda-Monium. Boats depart from Marina Mirage at 5.00pm and 7.30pm and return every hour after midnight until the event closes at 4.30am.
