While many accommodation options on the Gold Coast offer very similar features and are largely interchangeable, Sea World Resort caters very specifically to one demographic: families travelling with children.
So if one of your main reasons for visiting the Gold Coast is to take your kids to the theme parks, this may be the ideal place for you to stay. While it is possible to book accommodation only – without free access to Sea World – this kind of defeats the point of the resort.
Sea World Resort Packages
One of your best options may be to book one of the packages that include unlimited access to theme parks. There are a number of deals to chose from, for example the VIP Theme Park Package includes accommodation and unlimited entry to not only Sea World but to Wet’n’Wild and Warner Bros. Movie World as well.
There are quite a variety of rooms available from the standard right up to the premium Broadwater View Rooms. The accommodation itself is nice enough: it’s may not be the flashiest on the coast but most people will find it to be perfectly fine. Free WIFI and broadband access is included, breakfast is not.
Although there are a few suites that have some kitchen facilities, the majority of of rooms don’t even have a microwave, which means you will be eating out a lot. Of course, there is the Shoreline Restaurant, a Japanese restaurant and other options on hand, or you can simply head into town.
As you would expect, the resort is set up to keep children entertained and it certainly does. There is the Water Park, SpongeBob SquarePants shows, lifesize Nickelodeon characters for your kids to meet, and so on. There is also the recently upgraded Kids Club, where parents can leave their children to be looked after and entertained for a couple of hours and enjoy some “time off”.
For the adults there is an excellent pool, lovely garden area, a well equipped gymnasium, massages, jet skiing and more.
The resort’s location in the northern part of Main Beach means that if you want to visit Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and the other theme parks you will better off with a car. You can also take the local bus 750 but the stop is about a 700+ metre walk down the drive.
Sea World Resort is located on Sea World Drive in Main Beach. Telephone 133 FUN from within Australia or (07) 5591 0000.
