The Clock Hotel is a very popular three-level, pub/bistro that offers some of the best value eating and drinking in Surfers Paradise.
While it’s fair to say that it’s an unpretentious type of venue, it’s a very comfortable and pleasant place to enjoy a meal and/or a few drinks without having to take out a second mortgage.
The location is great: conveniently central with some fantastic views out over the water.
Food and Drink
The bistro on level one is quite cosy and serves some great pub food at very affordable prices. You get all the usual favourites including steaks, schnitzels, fish & chips, burgers and pasta.
They do have a childrens menu, but unfortunately vegetarians aren’t particularly well catered to. However, it must be said that the food is very satisfying, and there are some great value deals like the $10 lunch and $12.95 specials.
Drinks: whether you feel like a beer, glass of wine, spirits or cocktail, you’ll find it all here. In plentiful supply. And just like with the meals, you pay a very reasonable price.
There are three bars here. The Street Level Bar is nicely done out and modern without trying to be too flashy. It’s not too brightly lit, and there is also a beer garden area.
The Sports Bar is downstairs in the basement. Think lots of flat screen televisions all over the place, add a TAB, and you’ve got the picture.
The Lounge Bar is upstairs on level one, and is what might be considered to be the posh bit. Without any snobbishness, of course. The decor has a bit of an Asian influence, and the timber, gold trim, velvet drapes and so on make it a very pleasant place to enjoy a drink.
Entertainment: music comes from live acts and DJs – not designed to be cutting edge, but rather to enhance your overall enjoyment of the venue.
