Known locally as simply The Cooly, The Coolangatta Hotel is one of the larger entertainment venues on the Gold Coast.
With a steakhouse restaurant, beer garden, a very busy main bar, gaming lounge, band room and even it’s own nightclub, it’s popular with a wide cross-section of people – visitors and locals.
The main bar has events throughout the week, which include a trivia night on Tuesdays and an acoustic open-mic night on Wednesdays (subject to change).
The band room is actually one of the major live music venues on the Gold Coast, and features shows from leading Australian and International acts.
The nightclub – Icon – is open on Friday and Saturday nights. It’s certainly not as flashy as the some of clubs in Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach, but if you want to party without heading up the coast it’s a good option.
The restaurant is open seven days a week, and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s fairly typical pub grub, and the daily specials offer pretty good value. It can get very busy at the weekend, when you may need to make a booking.
A busy pub that is popular with locals and visitors alike. If you are staying in Coolangatta, you want to check it out at least once.
The Coolangatta Hotel is located on the corner of Marine Parade and Warner Street. Telephone 07 5589 6888 (main number) or 07 5589 6815 for restaurant reservations.
